Description
Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be able to visit the most important places that this magical city full of history and energy has to offer. Next, you will visit Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world. The accommodations are carefully selected to make your stay memorable.
- Day 1: Sacred Valley + Maras, Moray and Salineras. We will pick you up at your hotel / accommodation at 06:30 AM to start the trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, sit back comfortably in our tourist bus while observing the beautiful landscape on the way to the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the archaeological center of Chinchero, here you will have a guided tour of the Inca terraces and the interior of the colonial temple, which was built on Inca foundations. Continuing with the tour we head to the town of Maras to visit its famous salt mines, you will have enough time to take your respective souvenir photos and shopping and after a short drive we will visit the archaeological center of Moray, a place where we will appreciate circular Inca terraces that once served the function of acclimatizing products brought from other regions, here you will be given time to take pictures. Continuing with the tour we were heading to Urubamba where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, later we will go to Ollantaytambo, a place surrounded by sacred mountains, where we will rediscover the magnificence of the Inca constructions, the incredible temple of the sun, the huge blocks of perfectly carved and polished stone, the stone and water fountains, stairs, terraces and the beauty of the local population in their typical costumes, all surrounded by the sacred mountains and the valley of Patacancha and Willoq. Continuing the tour we head to explore the extensive ruins of Pisaq, with its impressive views over the valley. On the guided walk to the Citadel of Pisaq one can appreciate temples, residences, altars, canals, carvings, tunnels, grottos and the famous Inti Huatana “The Picota del Sol”. We will return to the city of Cusco arriving at 7:30 pm.
- Day 2: Arrival in Aguas Calientes for the visit to Machu Picchu. We will pick you up from your hotel and head to the Ollantaytambo station. Here you will take the first class train for a 1 hour and 45 minute trip to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will be greeted by the agency staff and taken to the hotel. You will have the entire afternoon free to visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes. At 8:30 p.m. the guide will visit you to provide you with information about the ascent to Machu Picchu the next day.
- Day 3: Visit Machu Picchu and return to Cusco. The day starts early, first we go to the bus station to make the trip to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Once there we will begin the visit observing the great landscape that surrounds this wonder, you will observe the beauty of its Temples, shrines, enclosures and stairs that connect the different planes, you will listen to the history about the Incas who built the buildings. Machu Picchu is in itself; it is an exaltation of stone, the time of the visit on a guided tour is 2 hours and 30 minutes, at the end of the guided tour you will have time to take photos and visit the places that you liked the most. Next, we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch and do your shopping. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco.
