We begin the journey very early with pick-up at 3:00 a.m. from Cusco. We set off on an approximately 5-hour drive through the impressive and quiet landscapes of the Andean highlands toward the remote village of Phinaya.
• Arrival in Phinaya and Andean breakfast
Upon arrival, we enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast, ideal for acclimatization and preparation for the high-mountain experience.
• Transfer to the Quelccaya Glacier
After breakfast, we continue by vehicle for approximately 1 hour until reaching the area near the Quelccaya Glacier, considered the largest tropical glacier in the world.
• Hike to the Quelccaya Glacier
From the point where the road ends, we take an approximately 20-minute hike to the glacier, observing crystal-clear lagoons, streams, free-roaming vicuñas, and the mountains of the Vilcanota range.
• Return to Phinaya and traditional lunch
We return to the village of Phinaya to enjoy a typical lunch prepared with local ingredients.
• Visit to Sibinacocha Lagoon
During the return journey, we make a special stop at Sibinacocha Lagoon, one of the largest and most beautiful lagoons in the Andean highlands.
• Return to the city of Cusco
Approximate arrival in Cusco around 7:30 p.m., concluding this unforgettable high-mountain experience.
