Description
The Cusco to Hidroelectrica bus is an affordable and scenic alternative to reach Machu Picchu via Hidroelectrica. It departs from Cusco on an approximately 6-hour bus journey, passing through the Sacred Valley, Abra Málaga Pass, and the high jungle, until arriving at Hidroelectrica. From there, travelers complete an 11 km walk to Aguas Calientes, enjoying stunning natural landscapes before visiting Machu Picchu the following day.

06:50 hrs: Boarding the tourist bus and departure towards Hidroelectrica.
08:20 hrs: First stop of approximately 40 minutes near Ollantaytambo. (Optional: breakfast at the passenger’s own expense).
09:00 hrs: Continuation of the journey passing through the town of Ollantaytambo.
10:10 hrs: Arrival at the highest point of the route, Abra Málaga Pass, where impressive Andean landscapes can be admired.
12:50 hrs: Passing through the district of Santa Teresa.
13:45 hrs: Arrival at Hidroelectrica station. (Optional: lunch not included).
14:00 hrs: Beginning of the approximately 11 km hike along the railway tracks towards the town of Aguas Calientes.
17:00 hrs: Arrival in Aguas Calientes and continuation of the scheduled program for the visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
