Explore one of the most impressive landscapes of the Peruvian Andes on this full-day excursion to the Ausangate 7 Lakes, an ideal route for trekking lovers, nature enthusiasts, and turquoise glacial waters. This tour departs from Cusco and takes you to the foot of the snow-capped Ausangate Mountain, the fifth-highest mountain in Peru, considered sacred in Andean cosmology. During the hike, you will visit seven lakes surrounded by mountains, glaciers, and ancient rock formations. In addition, you will have the opportunity to relax in natural hot springs and meet local communities that keep their traditions alive.
More...• Hotel pick-up in Cusco (4:30 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.) We begin the tour with pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco’s historic center. It is important to be ready on time.
• Journey to Pacchanta (5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.) Transfer by tourist transportation for approximately 3 hours to the community of Pacchanta, located at over 4,200 meters above sea level.
• Traditional Andean breakfast (8:00 a.m.) Local breakfast ideal for acclimatization, including a hot infusion and energy-rich foods.
• Start of the hike to the 7 Lakes (8:30 a.m.) We begin the trekking through high-mountain landscapes, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, Andean flora, and alpacas.
• Visit to the Ausangate 7 Lakes (8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) Hike around the lakes Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, Orco Otorongo, and Patacocha, each featuring intense colors and a unique natural setting.
• Pacchanta hot springs (optional) (1:00 p.m.) Free time to enjoy the natural hot springs with views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountains.
• Andean lunch (1:30 p.m.) Homemade lunch prepared with local products by the host community.
• Return to the city of Cusco (2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) Return by tourist transportation to Cusco, enjoying the rural Andean landscape along the way.
